GET STARTED
Get started with
NotchSwitcher.
From download to purchase, step by step. Downloading NotchSwitcher itself is free.
Requires macOS 14 or later. Builds support both Apple Silicon and Intel, though not every Mac model has been tested.
Download and unzip
Double-click the downloaded ZIP to unzip it, then move “NotchSwitcher” to your Applications folder.
Open it for the first time
Open NotchSwitcher from Applications. An icon appears in your menu bar.
Add the apps you want to switch
NotchSwitcher doesn't include any notch apps. Install the notch apps you want separately on your Mac, then add them from the menu.
About permissions
NotchSwitcher uses Accessibility permission to identify targets and handle input, and Screen Recording permission to capture previews. It does not record audio.
Before you buy
Before buying, you can still browse your registered apps and their previews. Actually switching to another notch app requires an in-app purchase or a free pass.
How switching works
NotchSwitcher requests a normal quit from the current app, waits for it to close, then launches the next one. Music, notifications and other activity in the previous app stop at that point. Launch time and whether state is restored depend on each app.
License & purchase
Choose “License…” from the menu to open the license screen directly. “Get Started…” also offers an alternate path to the purchase page. Choosing to buy opens Stripe's checkout in your browser. The app automatically confirms the purchase afterward — while confirmation is in progress, use “Recheck purchase” instead of pressing buy again (that would risk a duplicate purchase).
Keep your license key
Keep the LICENSE KEY issued after purchase somewhere safe, for recovery. On another Mac, use “Restore from key” on the same license screen to restore it. If you have a free pass, enter it in the same field via “Use a free pass”.
If something isn't working, please don't reset or delete anything in Keychain, change security settings, or reinstall from scratch. Start with ordinary steps, like quitting and reopening NotchSwitcher.
